Long Run
A great route to follow is Paseo Dominical. Starting from Campo Marte and going all the way to the historic center and Él Zócalo, this route is perfect for someone looking to do a longer run, covering 16 kilometers in total there and back. The road is closed for vehicular traffic from 8 am to 2 pm, which creates a great atmosphere of people cycling, running, blasting music, walking their dogs, and more! This route will allow you to pass iconic landmarks of the city with a fresh perspective, a highlight is definitely Palacio de Bellas Artes and hearing the cathedral bells as you approach Él Zócalo.
Short Run
An option for a shorter run is going to the second section of chapultepec. This run offers several different routes as you can compose the loops in whatever way you’d like. Surrounded by a lake and greenery, this route is great for a run with family or friends. Besides the Sope, the rest of the park is pet friendly and often has lots of dogs running around. One lap of the bigger loop is around 3.5 kilometers long, there are also other paths to take if you would like to make it any longer or shorter. Along the park there are a lot of food and drink stands to enjoy before, during, or after your run!
